Women at Archiact: Meet Wenqi Song

Posted on 06 December 2017

Meet Wenqi! She’s a busy bee here at Archiact - working on so many projects at once. One project she’s currently a part of is Schema by Scenarion. Scenarion is a subsidiary within Archiact and Schema is their upcoming VR software for design and architectural applications. We’re super excited for you to meet her and to read her thoughts on women in VR!

Name:

Wenqi Song

Job Title:

Associate Project Manager

What project(s) are you currently working on?

Schema and other B2B projects

What do you love most about working in VR?

A fast-paced industry with a lot of opportunities. I like working in VR because we can help a lot of industries in a more creative and interactive way

What three words would you use to describe a typical work day?

Meetings, Jira, and documentations

What is your biggest achievement to date - professional or personal?

Professional one is the project we did for Vancouver Science World which I was the producer for for the first time. It ended really well with great feedback from all sides.

Personal one is the project I just started. I am running a reading blog and I hope I can keep reading and keep it updated.

What is your personal mantra or motto?

I don't have a motto but I think “Life is a journey, not a destination” is one that represents my attitude a lot. Oh and I just read this sentence - “Never forget why you started, and you can accomplish your mission” - I like it a lot.

Do you have any advice that you would like to share with young women aspiring to work in the technology field?

Girls have a lot of power, much more than people think. No matter what job or career you want, even if you feel that it is too far away, just be fearless. Start with something related and you will definitely be there some day.

Just for fun! If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you bring with you?

My kindle with books loaded, tons of water and a solar battery system for charging my kindle
