Lamper VR vs. Lamper for Google Cardboard

Posted on 16 December 2014

Today we wanted to reach out to you, and explain why there are two different versions of our Lamper game. Our team has developed these different versions in order to create the best possible user experience for you. These two Lamper builds, Lamper VR and Lamper for Google Cardboard, are the exact same game, but are optimized for different devices.

Let's start with Lamper VR. This version is the general build that has the capability to support all virtual reality devices. This includes, the Durovis Dive, Google Cardboard, Refugio 3D, VRTX One, Homido, VR SmartView, and more.

On the other hand, Lamper for Google Cardboard was designed specifically for Google Cardboard. This was done by using Google Cardboard's development SDK to best optimize your virtual reality experience. The camera and code control is different on Lamper for Google Cardboard in comparison to Lamper VR. This build was featured on Google's "Apps for Cardboard" page, take a look at the feature here.

Which version should you download? This depends on what VR headset device you are using. The safest way to go is if you are using a Google Cardboard headset, simply use Lamper for Google Cardboard. If you are using any other kind of VR device, go ahead and download the Lamper VR build.

Enjoy the world of the Lampers! See how long you can survive as a small bug.
