Darknet Gets VR-Optional Update on PlayStation

Posted on 26 September 2017

Attention PlayStation users: The Darknet is spreading. At midnight GMT on September 26, the hacker hit recieved the "VR-Optional" Update, which allows players to play the game both in VR, or traditionally without the need for the PSVR headset.Whether you're in North America, Europe or Japan, as long as you own a PlayStation4, you too can now experience the widely-praised, intensely strategic gameplay of Darknet VR, no headset required! Of course, if you happen to be lucky enough to have PSVR as well, you can choose to play either in VR or traditional mode; in fact, you can switch seamlessly between the two just by removing or wearing your headset in-game. In either mode, DUALSHOCK4 controller support remains consistent, and the neon sci-fi visuals are just as eye-popping.

As our senior producer, Kevin Chorney, has said: this is one of those opportunities that just made too much sense to pass on. The sleek and familiar graphics have been translated perfectly to traditional PS4 gaming, while retaining the deep, challenging gameplay that makes Darknet such an iconic title.

Darknet is a strategy/puzzle game that puts players in the role of an elite hacker contracted to retrieve data from the world's most secure networks. Dive into the Net, install viruses, inject code, and hack your way through cybersecurity in an experience inspired by the classic cyberpunk vision of the future. Using various tools of digital mayhem, it's a race against the clock to infiltrate the network before time runs out...or your signal is traced. Hackers, get your hydras ready!

The free “VR Optional” Update for Darknet becomes available today!
Darknet continues to be available for $14.99 USD on PlayStation Network.
